Andrew Ricketts is a musician, educator, producer, and specialty coffee fanatic currently based in Boston, Massachusetts.
From making his first sounds on a trumpet when he was barely big enough to hold it, to a professional performing and teaching career as a drummer that’s continued for two decades and counting, he’s never been able to escape the music.
As a drummer, Andrew has shared the stage with numerous artists in Boston, New York City, and Austin, Texas. While he has a soft spot for the local, small venue gigs with the dearest of friends, he’s no stranger to big stages either. From NFL stadiums and a DCI World Championship as a member of The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps to the Hard Rock in Boston with members of the Wu-Tang Clan, his experiences cover a wide range of music. Feeling at home in Massachusetts, Andrew has been the drummer for Eavesdrop since 2021. He has also appeared with Mary McAvoy, The ABeez, Adriya Joy, Roots Rock Rebels, and others. His drum sounds can be found on Eavesdrop’s and Mary McAvoy’s newest releases, with more projects in the works from various artists.
Andrew remains an active educator as well. In private and group settings he has taught students from age 5 to older adults in rudimental percussion, drum set, piano, guitar, and voice. Though he holds a masters degree in music, Andrew has remained obsessed with how we as humans process and absorb music and has always found a way to relate to those who struggle with music theory or interpreting music in a fixed system.
Andrew Ricketts is a proud artist and educator with Vic Firth sticks and Zildjian cymbals.
